CABINET RECLUSE, 2010

Cabinet Recluse 2010

Looping video and interactive installation

Wood, plaster board, lights and bed material

Exhibited at Stour Space, London December 2010

Though a depression at the age of 17, the bed became both a safe space and an enclosure from life. The piece is a play of contradicting emotions, when the inner prison becomes comfort.

The audience was invited to enter a large wooden box, which contained a bed. The comfort of the space, made several audience members stay inside the box, although the video kept looping. The dilemma or whether or not to dismember agonising comfort.
